Shelley Lubben was a woman, friend, mother, daughter, civil rights activist, author, artist and Christian with very good intention. Shelley Lubben was correct about far more than many have given her credit for – not just about the adult entertainment industry but about life.
Shelley Lubben’s attempts to financially “help” sex workers are what ultimately killed her. The truth is, no one needs “help” leaving the pornography industry – because when an individual is ready to move on with their life – they simply do. Anyone who’s a sex worker (pornstar, cam models or escort) that CLAIMS to need your help financially is in actuality a con-artist & will harm you.
From the perspective of the Porn News Today team – Shelley Lubben’s concerns about the pornography industry’s health and safety protocols needing improvement were valid – as were her concerns about the presence of the organized crime elements within pornography industry.
However, the Porn News Today team strongly feels that if Shelley Lubben were still alive today – she’d see at this stage that the pornography industry is a “necessary evil” in this world – and shouldn’t be completely eliminated. If for no other reason, because certain people need to experience the realities of what the pornography industry IS and DESERVE to be in the pornography industry (for however long God see’s fit).
Life’s all about balance – just as there needs to be good, there needs to be evil as well.
